There was some downtime before concerning the userContent.css and userChrome generators.

They are now working fine :)

The Pillbox has shrunk!

To make the compact mode even more compact I’ve added a small pillbox. This saves about 30% of the space the back & forward buttons used to use.

Nice work, Google!

January 16th, 2009 by Snake-Arsenic

I just installed the Google Toolbar and found that they are now using theme code for the search box.

This means that the toolbar blends in with current theme and lowers the risk of visual bugs, freeing up themers time by not making them add custom styles for the toolbar.

Now all we need is for Google to remove the colour styling from their links and take on the themes style by adding the text-link class to the links and using the href attribute for their javascript.

As a theme designer I believe add-ons should incorporate as much of the themes styling as humanly possible to reduce these bugs. When that happens, the theme designer can find bugs in his/her theme and work on them, knowing that it will be fixed in other add-ons.

When an add-on creator styles part of their add-on, they should test their add-ons in multiple themes and style it in a way so that it works on as many themes as possible.

SVG Library Lost

January 15th, 2009 by Snake-Arsenic

That’s right. I went to create a new button, and the folder where I had all the SVG files for the theme was gone.

While this doesn’t stop me from making it compatible with Firefox 3.1, it is damn annoying to see all that work disappear.

Over the next few days I will be working hard on updating the theme for Firefox 3.1b2 and here’s a screenshot of the new Untrusted Connection page to look at while you wait.

NG Classic 3 on indefinite hold.

November 30th, 2008 by Snake-Arsenic

Recently my computer broke down and the backup I am using does not have the necessary memory or processing power to run the animation. All of the data is intact and when my computer gets the parts it needs to continue development I will resume development.

Sorry for any inconvenience as this delay may extend beyond the release of Firefox 3.1
